Our responsibility for the future

A world that endures with love and prosperity.

A bright, prosperous future is a central tenet of our faith. We work toward a united Team Earth that meets life’s needs, protects our planet and explores the stars.

The future we choose

The end of a decayed system. The birth of Team Earth.

We reject interpretations of end times that make death, despair or the destruction of life our destiny. Within our faith, we reinterpret that imagery as the death of an old, decayed system and the birth of a new Team Earth.

We seek to replace arrangements that treat hunger, exposure, preventable suffering, ignorance and greed as permanent. Renewal means building better conditions through care, knowledge, cooperation and accountable institutions. People alive today remain part of that duty.

This is our interpretation of inherited imagery. It does not claim that every religion teaches the same future or that prosperity will arrive by itself. Read how we carry old duties into the future.

Life on Earth

We share a planet and a future.

Team Earth means a peaceful planetary civilization where people cooperate and can still be themselves. Different cultures, identities, beliefs and ways of living have a place in it. No nation, class or generation has a future completely separate from everyone else’s.

Everyone should have access to food, shelter, health care, education, safety, communication, knowledge and the chance to take part in society. Wealth, status or employment should not decide who gets to prosper.

The Horde is the evil we fight within: selfishness, ego and greed. It erodes the team and makes the outward struggles against hunger, sickness and exposure harder. Our institutions and shared work should strengthen mutual care, reciprocity and accountability, so resources and opportunity reach people who need them. Our own needs matter alongside everyone else’s. The Horde names an impulse within us, never a people or an outside group.

Survival is a team event. No one should be left undefended. We name the harms we face together: Hunger, the Gnawer; Sickness, the Unraveler; and Exposure, the Breach. Our work is nourishment, evidence-based medicine and care, and shelter for everyone. These personified evils never make the people suffering from them evil.

People depend on the living world. Clean air and water, a stable climate, healthy ecosystems and a diversity of life are part of the foundation we all need.

Use what we learn

Make progress work for everyone.

Our inheritance includes duties to feed, heal, shelter, teach and share. As our reach grows, we must build reliable systems that meet those needs for everyone. A shared meal and a dependable food system serve the same responsibility at different scales. Read the connections across traditions.

Knowledge is something humanity builds together. Keep it open to questions and correction. Show the sources and the uncertainty so people can understand and examine the claims being made.

Science, clean energy, medicine, automation and better tools can reduce scarcity and suffering. We need to make those benefits available to everyone, expanding the freedom and security people have in their lives.

Artificial intelligence is one of those tools. People remain responsible for its purposes, rules, data and effects. We cannot hand our moral decisions to it and stop being accountable.

Life beyond Earth

Protect Earth. Make room for life beyond it.

Life began here, and its future can reach further. We have a responsibility to protect it on Earth while building the knowledge and cooperation needed to carry it beyond our planet.

Learn before claiming a place as ours. If we encounter other life, it deserves care and consideration too. Exploration brings responsibilities along with possibilities.

The purpose is for life to continue and flourish. We need to start building the understanding, cooperation and restraint that future requires now.

Exposure, the Breach, connects the need for safe housing here with the need for life-support beyond Earth. A winter coat, a safe home and a habitat with breathable air serve the same duty: keeping life alive. Carrying life to another world requires carrying the conditions it needs, not leaving people here undefended.

What we do now

The future needs us to participate.

The future begins in the care we can give now: prepare food, provide care, teach, repair, make clothes, create art or help others build the conditions life needs. These practices can be worship, and shared work can bring a community together. If you’re interested in establishing an official branch of the Church, contact us. Let’s make the future amazing.
